Daniel Coumides and Samantha McAlpin Recognized as Rising Stars
(Phoenix, AZ) February 2, 2021 – Gust Rosenfeld is pleased to announce that Daniel Coumides and Samantha Winter McAlpin were recognized as Rising Stars by the Phoenix Business Journal. Dan and Samantha were among 21 attorneys recognized in the January 29, 2021 issue of Phoenix Business Journal.
Honorees were selected based on their contributions to their firms and their potential to shape the industry, and the Valley’s legal world, moving forward.
Daniel Coumides
Dan has extensive litigation experience. His practice is focused on general liability defense, insurance coverage analysis, commercial litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, and professional liability litigation. He has additional litigation experience working as a criminal defense attorney. Dan has tried multiple jury trials to verdict and has participated in numerous arbitrations and mediations.
While in law school, Dan worked as a law clerk for U-Haul International, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the Office of the Public Defender, County of San Diego. He earned his J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. Dan earned a B.S. in accounting from Arizona State University.
Samantha Winter McAlpin
Samantha focuses her practice on family estates and trusts. She advises clients in the area of estate planning, including wills, trusts (revocable and irrevocable), health care and financial powers of attorney, and living wills. Samantha also assists clients with probate administration, trust administration, guardianships, conservatorships, and taxation.
In addition to her transactional estate planning practice, Samantha litigates contested probate and trust claims involving trustees, personal representatives, beneficiaries, and the exploitation of vulnerable adults.
Samantha is an Arizona native and graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University, with degrees in English Literature, Spanish, and History. She earned her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and received an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego. Samantha maintains an active pro bono practice and was recognized among the Top Pro Bono Attorneys in 2019 by the Arizona Bar Foundation.
