New Employment Eligibility Verification Form

November 14, 2007 By Gust Rosenfeld In Legal Alerts

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued a new I-9 form (employment eligibility verification) that must be completed when hiring new employees. Various documents have been removed and/or added to the lists of acceptable documents to be provided by employees to prove their identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Employers should begin using the new form immediately. A copy of the new form is available at http://www.uscis.gov.
