Gust Rosenfeld Welcomes New Associate, Enhances Employment and Education Practices
Gust Rosenfeld P.L.C. is pleased to welcome a new associate who has joined the firm’s growing employment and education law practice.
Karl H. Widell practices in the areas of employment litigation and education law, primarily representing the interests of public school districts. He is an experienced trial attorney, having counseled and represented numerous clients before judges and juries in several Arizona trial courts. He has also acted as appellate counsel in the Arizona Court of Appeals. Before joining Gust Rosenfeld, Widell practiced corporate bankruptcy law in Boston and commercial litigation and criminal defense in Phoenix.
In 2001, Widell earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law, where he was a member of the Arizona Law Review. In 2006, he completed a certificate course in judicial Spanish at the Universidad de Salamanca in Avila, Spain. He has also been involved in the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education High School Mock Trial Program as an attorney coach; in 2007, Widell’s varsity team placed second in the region and advanced to the state competition. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996.
