Gust Rosenfeld Expands Public Law Group with Addition of John Austin Gaylord

(Phoenix, AZ) October 4, 2021 – Gust Rosenfeld, P.L.C. is pleased to announce that John (“Austin”) Gaylord has joined the firm’s Public Law Group. Austin adds international government experience to the firm.

Austin’s practice focuses on public law, including city, town, and county government. He handles municipal matters including land use, development agreements, conflicts of interest, public records, construction law, annexations, civil rights, code enforcement and compliance, community facilities districts, procurement, utilities, water resources, and civil litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Austin served as senior legal counsel to the President of the Republic of Palau, where he advised on environmental, economic development, and resource issues, and on public infrastructure projects including airport, renewable energy, telecom, and sport and conference facility development. He has also served as an assistant city prosecutor for the City of Mesa.

Austin earned his J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he was an Editor-In-Chief of The Law Journal for Social Justice. Austin also earned a Master of Public Administration and B.A. in Political Science and History from Arizona State University.
