Jim Marburger’s practice focuses on the defense of products liability, aviation, personal injury, insurance bad faith, and commercial litigation. He has represented manufacturers and sellers of products of all kinds, including aircraft, automotive, medical equipment, and consumer products. Jim has defended airlines, pilots, maintenance facilities, manufacturers, and public utilities in aviation matters involving product design and manufacture, crashworthiness, piloting, maintenance and repair, and construction and marking of power lines. His background as an engineer, pilot, and flight instructor, and his prior work experience in the aerospace industry, make him uniquely qualified to understand, evaluate, and explain complex aviation and other technical concepts to judges and jurors.
Prior to his legal career, Jim served for eight years as a Captain in the United States Air Force in the design and launch of satellites on expendable rocket boosters and the Space Shuttle. He maintains his status as a commercial pilot and flight instructor in airplanes, instruments, and gliders, and owns and operates a general aviation aircraft.
