Diana L. Kanon focuses her practice on medical malpractice and civil litigation. She joined Gust Rosenfeld after serving as Deputy County Attorney for the Gila County Attorney’s office in Globe, Arizona, where she prosecuted felony criminal matters. While in that office, she successfully petitioned the Arizona Supreme Court, which decided 7-0 in favor of Gila County in a case with broad implications for small Arizona counties. Previously, she worked with a private law firm in Tucson where she defended civil matters in state and federal court, including professional malpractice, municipal liability, insurance defense, estate litigation, bankruptcy, and employment law.
Diana was born in Australia and grew up in Globe. Diana is a graduate of the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law cum laude where she was Articles Editor of the Arizona Law Review, on the Dean’s List, and a Richard Grand Legal Writing Competition Finalist.
Committed to her community and her profession, Diana was most recently a member of the Arizona Gang Investigators Association, Arizona Narcotics Offers Association, and Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys’ Advisory Council. Past affiliations include the State Bar CLE Committee, Tucson Division (2005-2009); Southern Arizona Chapter of the Arizona Women Lawyers’ Association Steering Committee; and top leadership positions for the Pima County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. She has six published appellate opinions.
